Scott Air-Pak 75 (AP75): Core System Features
The Scott AP75 is the industry benchmark for reliability. At SOS Fire LLC, our Scott Factory Trained Service Technicians ensure every pack—whether 2.2 or 4.5—is mission-ready.
Dual Pressure Configurations
We stock and service both pressure standards to fit your department’s specific needs:
- 2.2 (2216 PSI): The classic low-pressure standard, favored for its simplicity and compatibility with legacy cylinder inventories.
- 4.5 (4500 PSI): The high-pressure standard, providing maximum air duration in a slimmer, more compact cylinder profile for better maneuverability.
Key Technical Components
1. Safety Redundancy (The Dual-Reducer)
The heart of the AP75 is Scott’s patented dual-redundant pressure reducer. If the primary reducer path should ever encounter an issue, the system automatically switches to a secondary path. This ensures a continuous, "fail-safe" flow of air to the firefighter.
2. Tactical Low-Air Alerts (Vibralert EOSTI)
Standard SCBAs use a whistle or bell; the Scott AP75 uses Vibralert. This patented End-of-Service Time Indicator (EOSTI) provides a tactile vibration in the facepiece. In high-noise environments where alarms can't be heard, you will feel exactly when your air reaches the low-capacity threshold.
3. Pak-Alert SE 7 (Integrated PASS)
Every pack includes an integrated Personal Alert Safety System (PASS). This movement-sensing alarm provides:
- Visual HUD: A Heads-Up Display showing remaining air pressure via color-coded LEDs.
- Audible Distress Alarm: A high-decibel alert that triggers if the wearer becomes motionless.
4. Universal Air Connection (RIC/UAC)
For emergency scenarios, the AP75 is equipped with a Rapid Intervention Crew/Universal Air Connection. This allows for high-pressure transfilling from a rescue pack, providing a lifeline to a downed firefighter without ever breaking the seal of their facepiece.
5. Ergonomic Aluminum Backframe
The lightweight, one-piece solid aluminum alloy frame is designed to wrap around the wearer's hips. This shifts the weight off the shoulders, lowering the center of gravity and significantly reducing fatigue during long operations.
