About SOS Fire Equipment LLC & Our Mission
Our Mission:
Our mission is simple: to bring the highest quality gear and emergency equipment to all public safety agencies at a price they can actually afford. We believe that every first responder—from small-town volunteer departments to large municipal agencies—deserves reliable, top-tier protection without breaking the bank.
Our Story:
SOS Fire Equipment LLC was born out of real-world necessity. In 2015, our founder, Keith, was serving as a volunteer fire chief in a small town. Operating with a tight annual budget of around $40,000 for a 15-member department, outfitting the crew with turnout gear—costing upwards of $2,000 per set—was an uphill battle. He saw firsthand that traditional equipment dealers were solely focused on pushing brand-new inventory, with little regard for how underfunded departments were supposed to finance those life-saving tools.
Driven to solve this problem, Keith launched SOS Fire Equipment in 2019 out of his home garage, specifically catering to rural VFDs facing financial constraints. Demand quickly outgrew the garage, leading to a dedicated storage shop in 2020, a leased building in Poteau, OK, by 2021, and finally our expanded headquarters in Wister, OK, in 2023—tripling our workspace and inventory capacity.
By growing our business responsibly with minimal debt, we pass those savings directly to our customers. We take immense pride in supporting the men and women who keep our communities safe by making world-class gear accessible and affordable to every department we serve.
